Golden, yet bittersweet.

Golden, yet bittersweet.

Some Pawfect Love creations stay with me forever. The stories behind them, the love they represent—they are the reason I do what I do. Luke and Lisa’s wedding was one of those stories, one that would be as heartwarming as it was heartbreaking.

Luke first reached out long before their wedding day, with a special request. He wanted something meaningful, something that truly reflected their little family. He decided on custom mismatched cufflinks of their two golden retriever girls and a bouquet charm featuring their beloved golden boy. It was a beautiful way to carry them into their big day at Glen Ewin Estate.

Months passed, and then Luke reached out again. The words in his message were heavy. “Sadly, we lost our girl yesterday… we were hoping you could make a charm for us.”

My heart sank. I knew just how much their pets meant to them, and I could feel the weight of that loss through his words. He wanted another bouquet charm, this time in memory of their darling girl who had passed just a few months before the wedding.

As I carefully sculpted each piece, I thought about what these keepsakes would mean. More than accessories, they were a tribute—something to hold onto in a moment of joy, a way to carry their beloved dogs with them into this next chapter of life.

When their wedding day arrived, Anke Photography captured moments filled with love. Luke wore his cufflinks—one creamy golden, one rich gold—each a reflection of the girls who had been there through their journey. Lisa held her bouquet close throughout the day, their golden boy's face smiling and nestled amongst her bouquet's flower stems. A silent, but ever-present part of their day.

Even after the wedding, Luke and Lisa’s story stayed with me. It was a reminder of why I do this—to create not just keepsakes, but tangible pieces of love and memory. To help people hold onto what matters most, even when those we love can’t physically be with us.

Luke and Lisa’s golden retrievers were part of their love story, and now, through their custom pieces, they will always be part of their forever.

Luke and Lisa chose a cufflinks and bouquet charm set and later a single bouquet charm.
